Do you feel how relentlessly the pace of life keeps accelerating? How much harder it has become to find time for unhurried reading in the calm of your own home? Meanwhile the younger generation, immersed in digital media, has little appetite for reading at all, considering it unreasonably slow and dull.
We feel that the world is changing too, and so we have created a modern and timely service for our clients: all the key results of the work on your project gathered into a rich short film lasting from 7 to 15 minutes.
In that time you will see all the principal milestones of your family history and the vivid moments of your ancestors' lives, presented in the accessible form of an engaging documentary.
The materials gathered in the course of comprehensive genealogical research, before they are worked up by professional writers, form an enormous body of documents, maps, audio recordings and reference literature. These materials are then summarised, ordered, transcribed, verified and explained. This is the substantial work of many specialists — from historians and art scholars to artists and graphic designers. The result is an authentic, clear and compelling family history, presented as an illustrated report or a unique genealogical book. To turn the results of the research into video, we bring in an entire team of specialists as well — this time from reporters and historical re-enactors to VFX artists working in computer graphics.
A significant difference between the video presentation and the family encyclopaedia is timing: a finished book can take up to several years, whereas the first striking video presentation is ready just 2 months after the project begins. It delivers visible results at an early stage and draws your relatives into the family story long before the research is complete. It includes fascinating excerpts from IGC specialists' conversations with your relatives, scenic footage of your ancestral homeland, and a virtual reconstruction of the historical context in which your ancestors lived. Through video reconstruction we take you on a tour of the events and the way of life of people separated from you by one, two, even five centuries.
The final film includes both dramatised and documentary footage illustrating everyday life in the times of the earliest members of your family we have been able to find. The true scale of a family's history is revealed only in the context of the wider one. We include only authentic historical documents and original photographs, and we set out the results of the work carried out. Recorded interviews with relatives preserve living testimony of a vanished era for those who come after.
In the history of every family there is a place for heroism, for belief in miracles, for loyalty to ideals, for fearless migrations and global upheavals, for the bitterness of loss and the joy of victory, for the horror of war and the delight of peace, for a passion for learning and a pull towards art.
A video presentation of genealogical research by the International Genealogical Center is a unique offering with no equivalent in this country. It is clear and engaging for the widest range of viewers — the older generation, children, your friends — becomes a memorable moment at an important family gathering, and inspires your relatives to continue the research.
We will guide you through the pages of history. That path may prove the most absorbing and valuable journey of your life, one you will remember always. And for especially keen clients our team can prepare and lead a bespoke private tour of the places where your ancestors lived.
